When her father goes off to fight in the Boer War, young Sara Crew is placed in an exclusive private school where she lives a wonderful life, at first. One day, Sara’s father becomes listed as missing in action, leaving Sara unable to pay the school’s tuition. From that day forward, Sara’s life steadily declines from one of plenty to that of a maid. Refusing to accept that her father is dead, Sara prowls hospitals hoping to locate him. Luck, and Royal intervention, assist Sara in her quest.
