In this Spanish film, a group of stevedores living in an impoverished part of northern Spain lose their jobs and are forced to look for work after the local dockyard closes. The longtime friends end up spending their days loafing, drinking, schmoozing and picking up women, all the while searching for something anything that will help them retain a sense of personal dignity.
